The Privy Council Office. Chartered Status is the profession's Gold Standard for Financial Planners. To achieve Chartered status an individual must commit to a programme of continuing professional development. This includes progressing through a series of industry exams set by the Chartered Insurance Institute. Attainment of the Chartered Status is an acknowledged demonstration of professional standing. To maintain Chartered Status an individual or firm must commit to a set of core values, business practices and a code of ethics. In addition they must aspire to values associated with integrity and professionalism, transparency and openness, and the pursuit of quality. At all times an individual and firm must: 1. Comply with this code of ethics and all relevant laws and regulations 2. Act with the highest ethical standards and integrity 3. Act in the best interests of each client 4. Provide a high standard of service 5. Treat people fairly regardless of race or racial group, sex or sexual orientation, religion or belief, age and disability. |
